Tailpiece drawing for Lawrence, Seven Pillars of Wisdom: 'Farraj and I hired three of the merry little women, wrapped ourselves up like them, and strolled through the village . . . Some Turkish soldiers crossed our party, and taking us all five for what we looked, grew much too friendly' (ch. 93).
